Claudio Parmiggiani (b. 1943, Luzzara, Italy; lives and works in Parma, Italy) began making smoke-and-soot compositions, which he calls delocazione (or "de-located" artworks), in 1970.

Parmiggiani’s work has been shown six times at the Biennale di Venezia, Venice, Italy (1972, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1995 and 2015).
